A friend recently said Obama “stole our country away from us.” I could not disagree more. I think our “country” was stolen long before Obama began to leverage it to advance his pseudo-philanthropic agenda.
But before I get into why I think the “country” was stolen before Obama showed up for work, I should clarify my position on him, since I have not yet done that in this space.
Yes, I believe he is a socialist (or at least a socialist in training). Any rational person who objectively reviews the case against him MUST draw that conclusion. Why? Because to ignore his speeches/ideologies/patterns, and fail to juxtapose them to those of prominent socialists like Chairman Mao or Marx, is both NEGLIGENT and DISHONEST. (more…)

Glenn Beck recently said people should boycott churches that preach economic and social justice. Preachers of such churches are now calling for a boycott of Beck. Even though Beck is a spaz, and–at least in this observer’s opinion–no more interesting than the office water cooler big mouth, (more…)

In Saving Private Ryan the celebrated sniper Private Jackson prays “O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me” seconds before he blows a hole in a guy about a mile away. In Pulp Fiction Jules recited an editorialized Ezekiel passage (”and I will strike you down with furious vengeance..”) before he got his blast on. Now today it is being reported that sights on U.S. military weapons have been inscribed with Biblical inscriptions such as the one above (John 8:12). Huh? (more…)

In this video one of the 700 Club’s Fox News’ talking heads suggests Tiger may never recover, may have lost his family, and should choose Jesus over Budda because Buddism doesn’t “offer the type of forgiveness” Tiger needs. When teleprompter-reliant desk jockeys are giving sermons to pro athletes, you know the “greatest generation” has officially left the building. (more…)

I have a observed a common denominator threading the Christian-turned-atheist folks I have encountered in the past several months. Without exception, each one of them disqualifies God as “benevolent” on either one of three (or all) grounds: 1) All the pain and suffering in the world; 2) All the pain and suffering in the world caused by so-called Godly people; 3) All the pain and suffering in the world caused by God HIMSELF (such as in the O.T.).”
If you partake in any discussion about theism with an atheist, you will find these positions are as common to the materialist’s continuum as red, white, and blue are to the U.S. flag. (more…)

I have noticed a lot of atheists are now asserting Christ would have nothing to do with Christianity if he lived in our age. Moreover they assert Christianity was formed without His consent, and misrepresents His teachings. The image at left was lifted from a blog called notjesusfault.com. The purpose of the website (and I can safely presume the intent of anyone who cites its creed) is to ” to “vindicate Jesus from Christianity” … oh and, ahem, “encourage an important discussion about Christianity’s fidelity to Jesus’ message and mission.”
I’ll do my best not to laugh too hard at the absurdity of the idea that Christ hates Christianity. I will limit my analogies to (more…)

I recently read on a Christian-turned-atheist blog that the Christian “story” [notice atheists frequently refer to Christ as a "story" so they can reduce Him to fairy tale straw man and then kick him over with no effort] is a “absurd and evil.” Embedded in the post was a YouTube video depicting a South Park-like parody of Jesus explaining to a panel of angels his reasons for coming to the earth to “sacrifice himself for himself.”
When viewing these sorts of indignant videos (there are much better out there, by the way), I can’t help but notice a common thread between them: the atheist’s mind is always focused on darkness, not light. (more…)

I have great admiration for Mark Twain. I can never get enough of his prose. As I was reading one of his many posthumously published letters earlier today (from “Letters from the Earth,” a collection of short stories and letters he wrote criticizing religion), one statement in particular jumped out at me:
“The poor’s most implacable and unwearying enemy is their Father in Heaven. The poor’s only real friend is their fellow man. He [the poor's fellow man] feels sorry for them, he pities them, and he shows it by his deeds. He does much to relieve their (more…)
