My heart goes out to the people of Haiti and their loved ones around the world. But did God do it? Many Christians seem to think so. I don’t. I don’t think God causes earthquakes. I think the earth is very unstable in its fallen state, and thus calamities such as the one in Haiti are unfortunately  inevitable.

Of course the question will arise: what good could possibly come out of this? Well, looking forward, perhaps Haiti will get the attention it needs now. For instance, there was said to be a horrific slave and sex trade known to be going on in Port Au Prince. Many children and women were being treated barbarically. Perhaps this event will draw the world’s attention to this long-neglected island community of beautiful people.
